The HARFORD District

The Harford District of the Baltimore Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, serves all of Harford County. Harford is rich in Scouting tradition and provides the youth of our community with an opportunity to challenge them both intellectually and physically. We are also the home of Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation.

ADULT LEADERSHIP

Trained adult volunteers serving as unit leaders, committee members, commissioners, district committee members, and merit badge counselors number, conservatively, 2,000 adults.

EAGLE SCOUTS

The Harford District proudly presented the Eagle Scout Badge, Scouting's highest honor to 50 boys in 1999. The Eagle Scout projects done by each candidate have benefited churches, schools, county parks, senior centers, communities, and centers for disabled persons.

OUTDOOR CAMPING

Over 475 Boy Scouts attended a week-long summer camp in 1999.
Over 200 Cub Scouts and Webelos took part in Cub Scout Day Camp in 1999.
4 adult Scouters in the district were awarded the District Award of Merit in 1998.
